Annatto is a tropical tree.  Its red seeds are used for food and feed colouring, as well as medicine because of its benefits and properties.

EGGS  NUTRITION & COLOURING

Chicken and another poultry produce eggs with pale yolks, depending on their feed. Annatto enhances not only the colour of yolks, it also improves the nutritional quality of eggs. Bixin is the major pigment of Annatto. It is classified as Xantophyll, a type of carotenoid. Annatto has a very high colourant effect on egg yolk because of the very high amount of Xantophyll    

NATURAL COLOURING

It is used to colour  Cheddar cheese, butter, meat, smoked fish, confectionary and also cheeses like  Cheshire, Edam, and Muenster. 

Annatto is an effective and completely natural colouring for conventional, as well as organic products.
